Ghostwriting

Some of the most important books never carry my name.

A small, high-touch partnership for leaders and originals who have a story worth the world's attention and the nerve to tell it true. I bring the method and the craft. You bring the life. The book comes out yours.

Why this is different

Not a service that takes your notes. A partner who learns your voice.

Most ghostwriting hands your life to a stranger, waits, and hands back a manuscript that sounds like a competent stranger wrote it. That is the police report of your story: accurate, orderly, and completely forgettable.

I work the other way. I take on only a handful of book partnerships at a time, because the whole thing depends on something that does not scale: hours in the room with you, drawing out the story the way I have learned to across four thousand interviews. The goal is not a book with your name on it. The goal is a book that a person who knows you would read and say, that is exactly how he sounds.

A note on discretion. The most consequential work here is invisible on purpose. Some of the leaders I write for will never be named, and that is precisely why they trust the process. What you tell me in the room stays in the room.
The partnership

It runs on the one thing that cannot be outsourced: time with you.

Three commitments define how we work. They are the reasons the book ends up sounding like you and not like me.

One-on-one

You work directly with me

Not a junior writer, not a team you never meet. Standing one-on-one sessions with me, recorded and mined, are the engine of the whole book. Your voice cannot be learned secondhand.

Method-first

We find your form before we write a word

Before drafting, we diagnose how your story actually wants to be told. The wrong container flattens a great story. We get the container right first.

Yours, fully

The book comes out in your name

My name never appears. The ideas, the authority, the credit, and the copyright are yours. I am the instrument. You are the author.

Finding your method

There is no single way to tell a true story.

Early in the partnership we run a discovery to find the form that fits your voice, your material, and what the book is trying to do in the world. A few of the shapes we work in:

The idea book

A thesis that changes how people see

You have a way of thinking the world needs a language for. We build the argument, the frameworks, and the stories that make it undeniable, the way The Narrative Edge was built.

Hover for the question
The question I'd ask
"If I sat down separately with your board chair, your head of HR, and the person who has worked for you longest, and asked each why your organization exists, would I hear three versions of one story, or three different stories?"
The memoir / life story

The arc under the résumé

Not a chronology. The handful of true moments that made you, told so a reader feels the stakes you felt. The hardest form to fake, and the most powerful when it lands.

Hover for the question
The question I'd ask
"What is the chapter of your life you have stopped telling at work, and what would it cost you to put one sentence of it back on the table?"
The founder's journey

Why the company had to exist

The origin story your team half-tells and your market never hears whole. We author the version that becomes the company's spine, not just your bio.

Hover for the question
The question I'd ask
"If your most important external audience for the next twelve months described your organization in their own words tomorrow, would it match the one you have been telling yourself?"
The braided narrative

Idea and life, woven

For leaders whose argument only makes sense through their life, and whose life only makes sense through their argument. The two threads carry each other.

Hover for the question
The question I'd ask
"Are you the author of your story, or a character in someone else's, and which part of your life will tell you the truth first?"
The legacy book

For the people who come after

A private or limited work for a family, a company, or an institution, meant to outlast the moment. Quiet, exacting, and made to be kept.

Hover for the question
The question I'd ask
"When did you last let a room see you care about something that was not on your scorecard, and what happened to the temperature of that room when you did?"
You do not need to know which of these you are. That is my job. Most people arrive certain they want one form, and the work of discovery reveals their story has been asking for another all along.
Beyond the book

The book is the beginning, not the end.

A finished manuscript is an asset most authors underuse. Through the ReignLight and Narrative Stack studio, the same story becomes a body of work, each piece engineered to carry the book's value into a different room.

Stage

The signature keynote

The book's central argument, built into a talk you can carry to stages and stages that carry your book to new readers.

Audio

Author-voiced audiobook & podcast

Your book read in your voice, plus a limited podcast series that turns each chapter into a conversation.

Print

Columns & essays

Excerpted and original pieces placed to build the book's authority before and after launch, drawn from the mastheads I write across.

Companion

Field guide & workbook

A derivative companion that turns the ideas into a tool, the model behind the Narrative Edge Field Guide.

Social

The short-form engine

The book atomized into clips, quotes, and carousels, a quarter of content pulled straight from the manuscript.

Program

Cohort or course

For the idea book that wants to become a curriculum. We turn the framework into something people can be taught.

This is why the partnership is priced as one. You are not commissioning a manuscript. You are commissioning a story asset and the engine that makes it work for years.

What the work becomes

A story I built with a client, in his voice, that he can finally hold

This is one of the quiet ones. A leader trusted me with a childhood memory he had never told out loud. We found the shape of it together, and it became a short film he could share at last, in his voice, without his name on it. That is the whole promise: the story comes out yours.

The arc of the work

How a partnership actually runs

1

Application & fit conversation

You apply below. If there is a fit, we spend thirty honest minutes deciding, together, whether this is the right book, the right moment, and the right partnership. I turn most inquiries down. That is what protects the ones I take.

2

Discovery & method

A concentrated set of sessions where we find the story and the form it wants. You leave discovery with a blueprint even if we never wrote another word.

3

The interviews

Standing one-on-ones with me, recorded, transcribed, and mined for the voice, the moments, and the through-line. This is where your book actually gets written.

4

Drafting & shaping

I write; you react. Chapter by chapter, we tune it until it sounds like you on your most honest day. You are in the loop the whole way, never handed a surprise.

5

Publication & the engine

Through ReignLight we take it to the world: the book first, then the keynote, the audio, the essays, the companion. The story goes to work.

For those bold enough to hand me their story: I will give you back the truest version of it, in your own voice, with your name on the cover.

The application

Apply to work with me

This is a mutual decision. A few questions help me understand your story, your moment, and whether a partnership like this is right for you before we ever get on a call. It takes about three minutes, and every answer stays with me.

Step 1 of 5 · You

Let's start with who's asking.

No newsletter trap. This goes to me directly.
Step 2 of 5 · The book

What is the book about?

One or two sentences. The version you'd say out loud, not the polished one.
Step 3 of 5 · Why now

Why does this book need to exist now?

The honest answer here tells me more than anything else you'll write.
Step 4 of 5 · The partnership

How do you want to work?

This partnership runs on time in the room together. Be honest about the time you actually have.
Step 5 of 5 · Fit

The honest part.

This is a premium, top-tier partnership with a small number of clients a year. Knowing where you are helps us both decide fast. There is no wrong answer, only the real one.

Application received
Thank you. Your application is with me now.

I read every one of these personally. If it's a fit, I'll write to you myself, so keep an eye on your inbox for my note. You won't be added to any list.

Not ready to apply, but the idea won't leave you alone?

That feeling is usually the book. When you're ready, the application is the way in, and I read every one myself.
